Legal Responsibility
Members remain responsible
- Canadian law: members and guests must comply with applicable Canadian firearm laws and related regulations.
- Licensing: members are responsible for maintaining any required PAL, restricted-firearm privileges, or other authorizations before attending firearm-related third-party activities.
- Local rules: provincial rules, municipal by-laws, facility rules, and organizer instructions still apply at every event.
- Independent judgment: site content is informational and community-oriented. It is not legal advice.
Event Positioning
How listed activities are handled
- Licensed third-party facilities: any live-fire or range-related activities occur through licensed third-party facilities.
- Independent organizers: event-specific instruction, supervision, or facility control belongs to the independent organizer, third-party facility, or their staff.
- Informational listings: HDBBA may list, describe, or communicate about activities without becoming the organizer, operator, instructor, or supervisor of those activities.
Independent Participation
What remains your responsibility
- Independent participation: attendance at any listed activity is voluntary and independent.
- No assumption of organizer responsibility: HDBBA does not assume responsibility for third-party facility operations, supervision, instruction, equipment, insurance, or safety management.
- Self-attestation: where licensing is required, members are responsible for self-attesting and complying with all laws unless a third-party organizer independently verifies eligibility.
- Keep it non-transactional: HDBBA spaces remain community and education focused, not a brokerage or private-sale platform.
Sponsorship and Affiliation
How sponsor materials should be read right now
- Current status: HDBBA is in a pre-incorporation founding growth phase. Sponsorship packages describe current community reach, intended collaboration paths, and audience fit, but they do not represent incorporated status, insured event control, or a final organizational structure.
- Package language: audience and reach numbers on sponsor materials are sponsor-facing marketing figures and may include community channels, referral paths, and self-attested member audiences rather than a formal audited membership roll.
- Affiliations and facilities: references to clubs, providers, facilities, or activations reflect discussions, independent collaborations, or third-party relationships and should not be interpreted as HDBBA operating, supervising, or guaranteeing those activities.
Commercial Boundaries
What sponsorship does and does not guarantee
- No automatic exclusivity: exclusivity, category lock, or premium placement applies only where expressly confirmed in writing.
- No guaranteed turnout: sponsor materials may describe likely visibility, community exposure, or intended activations, but they do not guarantee attendance, purchases, or event outcomes.
- Terms can change: package structure, pricing, affiliation references, and organizational positioning may be updated as HDBBA's governance and legal structure evolves.
